The Center for Appropriate Dispute Resolution in Special Education. Housed under Direction Services, CADRE helps support parents through the prevention and resolution of disputes. They also have some Parent Guides.

Parent Training and Information Centers (PTIs)

They help families navigate raising children experiencing disabilities. Find Training and other resources.

Parents, advocates, educators, and attorneys use Wrightslaw for accurate, up-to-date information about special education law and advocacy for children with disabilities.

They have some truly fabulous resources, especially for Assistive Technology.

While mostly based in the Portland area, there is a local chapter. I'm not very involved in that because it was just getting off the ground when COVID hit.

From the National Center on Improving Literacy, This toolkit helps families learn how to effectively advocate for children’s literacy needs.

Also from the National Center on Improving Literacy, this Self-Advocacy Toolkit is geared toward middle and high school students who need to start learning to advocate for themselves. 

This is an advocacy group that is made up of parents who have had a variety of experiences in Special Education. Our website is really to help create a space to inform district and school administrators how to create a safe environment for all students.
